This season on Fox Gotham premiered. So far, I absolutely love this show. Please know that i am not a comic book purist so those of you that are may not agree with my thoughts. In my opinion the cast and setting is absolutely fabulous. If you have ever wondered why Batman is so borderline psycho, just have a good look at the city in which he was raised! We start the show with the Wayne family being murdered in front of young Bruce we are then introduced to this shows hero young James Gordon as he climbs through the ranks of the Gotham justice system to eventually become who we know as Commissioner Gordon. This show is set up to be a great crime show. Batman is not the main character in this story, but we will be offered a good glimpse into his life growing up with Alfred. Gordon has to struggle with remaining good in the absolutely corruption riddled City of Gotham.
Jada Pinkest Smith plays our current main villain Fish Mooney. Fish is a new character so we really do not know what will happen with her. She is ruthless. She has absolutely no problems with killing her own men, beating the living daylights out of people, or even plotting to pretty much take over the city. She has major connections within the Gotham’s corrupt justice system that would allow her to pretty much perform all of her illicit activities without batting an eyelash.
On the very first episode we are introduced to The Penguin. This actor is terrific! You can already see our young criminal mastermind coming into his own. I cannot wait to see the progression of Penguins character especially given the history of his relationship with Fish!
We can’t forget about little Selina Kyle. Our future Catwoman is already prowling around and lurking in shadows! This little girl tends to see everything!
The absolute best line of the show was given by Carmine Falcone, ” You can’t have organized crime without law and order.”
